About Us

How we got started?

In 2012, the young daughters of Joanna and David Greenstone (Caroline, Olivia and Emma)  received news that would change their lives. Their mother and grandmother had both been diagnosed with cancer, just a few short weeks apart.  The girls were scared, but they didn’t give in to their fear. They decided that they needed to find a way to fight back. That is how the Cancer Fighters Club was born.

Our History

The first official Cancer Fighters Club event was a simple lemonade stand outside their house, with all proceeds going to different charities that were fighting cancer, either by trying to find a cure or by helping cancer victims and their families. Since then the Cancer Fighters Club has grown with annual fundraisers that have also grown in size and scope. The Club has organized fundraisers involving water slides, roller skating, and most recently, our annual Tennis Fun Day.  But through it all, the commitment of its young founders has never wavered.

What we do?

The Cancer Fighters Club is now an official fund of the Dallas Jewish Community Foundation, and it has raised and donated tens of thousands of dollars to fight cancer. Some organizations that have benefitted from the Cancer Fighters Club are: The American Cancer Society, The Baylor Charles A. Sammons Cancer Center, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, Dana Farber Cancer Institute, The MPN Research Foundation, and others. Please join us as we continue on this important journey. And never lose the courage to fight, and keep fighting

fight with us.
